It's SO hard to sway negative conversations, negative people; just to change the subject, isn't it? I also disagree with what he said to you, trouble was always here...it's just found it's way to be more public. Ray grew up in this SMALL "city" and could share some of what he knew back when he was only 10 yrs. old.

Another thought with what you wrote, that came to me, Lisa...was that being Birdie seems to be much more like his momma - sharing your experiences and thoughts about life should bring greater understanding in his mind. I think so, anyway. Sammy and I have wonderful conversations because, we too, are similar in this way :o)....it builds good stuff in the relationship (to say it mildly).

I have something that you might think is funny....last night, we saw a squirrel out licking up the sap from our stump outside. I grabbed my camera and snapped some pictures. This morning I thought....

"One can gather more squirrels with the nature of sweet sap(piness) than by throwing nuts at them." hahaha

I was going to post it but not too sure if I should....

♥ HeatherHeatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04693495698843336789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4777587443732205769.post-33954384066622576572009-04-22T02:00:00.000-04:002009-04-22T02:00:00.000-04:00It's a sad situation, but so many people have that...It's a sad situation, but so many people have that very same view-- "everything bad is the fault of all those blacks". What an infectious, despicable disease to hand down to our children. I think it's admirable that you spend so much effort teaching your children. More parents should do just that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4777587443732205769.post-72410098344351464882009-04-22T00:48:00.000-04:002009-04-22T00:48:00.000-04:00The fact that the man said that you must be an ete...The fact that the man said that you must be an eternal optimist shows that he is making a choice everyday to be negative.
You sound like a wonderful Mom. It's a huge lesson to learn that you have to choose to be happy. Circumstances won't always be great, but that doesn't mean you can't make the best of a bad situation.
Nice goin' Proud Mom!shabby girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03991126161405336712noreply@blogger.com
